I hope those two things will be solved in the near future. Besides this it’s Ubuntu which is running slow as it seems. What i really miss is a solution to having mouse AND keyboard available at the same time as i have a “Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 1000” with a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 which the ps4kerneltest doesn’t recognize (it doesn’t show any input in the console).

This gave me internet for Ubuntu on the PS4 by plugging the cable into the notebook first and then into the PS4. I don’t know if this setting is the same spelled in english as i actually use Ubuntu in german language. I also got internet to work, using a crossover cable by connecting it to my notebook (which even has ubuntu installed) and changing the IPv4 setting for wired connection in the dropdown list (“automatically DHCP”) to (“shared with other computers”). I just then shut it down and tried it once again on the console itself.

I’ve been able to boot it up by plugging the drive with the fresh Ubuntu install into a PC first and boot it up from there till i got to the login screen. Here’s a video below from fx0day showcasing the whole process Wait a few seconds and you should see Ubuntu running ? Sometimes exec switch_root don’t start at the first time, just type the command again. Mount /dev/sdc1 newroot/ exec switch_root /newroot/ /newroot/sbin/init Now just type (if your bootable partition is sdc1).Type fdisk -l to see the name of your Usb Hdd ( /dev/sdXX)Īs you can see my ubuntu partition is in /dev/sdc1.Plug the Usb Hdd where you have your ubuntu install (At this point you can remove the Usb key with bZimage & everything is in RAM).Now you should see better-initramfs shell … Now go to the PS4-Playground and load Linux (you must have of course a usb key with bZimage & in the PS4, see here for details to load Linux on your PS4).So now you should have Ubuntu installed on your Usb Hdd …

I’ve used the ubuntu-14.04.4-desktop-amd64.iso (link above) and made the install on my Usb Hdd (with a PC of course), nothing more to say here just configure your keyboard layout, password …).

Copy the iso to Usb with a tool like unetbootin (Win/mac/linux) (You can burn on a Dvd also).

According to message boards, many more games are transferable, but the only officially supported games are those that show up in the PS Store, and are listed in the official Sony blog post above. It is strongly recommended that you use makeps3iso as this. PLEASE NOTE: When creating an ISO, there are 2 processes that can achieve this, genps3iso and makeps3iso. So far, I've done this to transfer two of my favorite games: Echochrome and Flow. As previously mentioned, compatibility of JB folder games is much less than ISO. Select them, copy the files, and you'll have your PSP games on your Vita. At this point, any PSP games that can be transferred show up in a list. Select the "Connect to a PS3 System" option, and select "Copy from PS3 to Vita." You can browse all PSP-related save content. The PS3 will store PSP games and allow a PSP-or, a Vita-to sync the content.Ĭonnect your PS Vita to the PS3 via USB cable (half of the AC charging kit that came with the system) and launch the Content Manager app. Instead, browse your download list via Transaction Management on your PSN account on the PlayStation 3, and download any PSP games.

So, here's the trick, which has been discussed on many message boards: while you can browse the PS Store to see what older downloadable PSP content is available for purchase or redownload, you're not getting the full picture of the whole PSP catalog. They may not be listed on Sony's backward-compatibility list, but they certainly work. Sony says the list of backward-compatible games will continue to grow, but why wait? There are actually plenty of other PSP games you can play on your PS Vita right now, but you'll need a PS3 to make it happen. Sure, there are plenty of great older games (and lots of great brand-new ones, too), but there are many missing titles. Alas, at this point, the list of PSP games you can download onto your PS Vita is limited. The PS Vita is a pretty phenomenal piece of hardware that's technically capable of being backward-compatible with the entire PSP library. Expand the Vita's library: connect to a PS3.
